Welcome to Optimal Formulation, we are glad you stopped by.
Our passion is wellness. To us, wellness means reaching Optimal health and being the best you! We want to be a part of that journey! Helping others reach their best selves is why we do what we do
What do we do? Well, we develop and research physician grade nutritional supplements to use in our medical practice. My name is Dr. Frank Matalone and I own and operate Holistic Medical Services, an integrative medical clinic here in Atlanta, GA. We focus on natural alternatives to the many health conditions facing our community. Nutritional supplements are a cornerstone of our practice and we take them very seriously.
What does physician grade supplements mean? This is a distinction that not many sellers can make. For starters, physician grade means that they are typically only available through licensed practitioners. It means that all of our formulas are backed by research and data. It means that all of our formulas are manufactured in FDA certified facilities and according to strict manufacturing practices that ensure quality, potency, and safety. This involves sourcing only the purest and freshest raw ingredients and performing robust identity testing to ensure what we say is in the bottle is in the bottle. It means that we evaluate each product according to patient results, not on price or profit.
Who am I?
My name is Frank Matalone, DO. I earned a BS in Psychology from the University of Arizona in 1983. I worked for 7 years at Tucson Medical Center as an orderly and Emergency Room EMT prior to entering the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, graduating in 1990 with my D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy) degree. I completed a 1-year AOA approved rotating internship at Northlake Regional Medical Center in Atlanta, GA 1990-91 and then went on to a 3 year Emergency Medicine residency at SUNY Stony Brook 1991-94. I practiced Emergency Medicine for 11 years here in Atlanta at various hospitals and also practiced Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care work.
It was during the later years of my conventional medical work that I recognized that short of immediate needs and true lifesaving emergencies, pharmaceutical-based medicine was a failure in healing any patient, and the numerous drug side effects and deaths were disturbing even though they were "approved."
(Did I mention that I love my wife Patti and our dog Bruiser?)
Opening my eyes to other long-practiced medical methods like Naturopathy excited me and I earned an N.M.D. (Naturopathic Medical Doctor) from Southern Graduate Institute of St. Luke's School of Medicine. Over my career in medicine, I've been board-certified in Emergency Medicine and presently, Holistic and Integrative Medicine. Interests in pain management as well as ozone therapies have earned me a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management and advanced certifications as an ozone practitioner through the American Academy of Ozonotherapy.
So what does all this mean to a patient? For over 25 years, my heightened level of training in both conventional and alternative medicine with these additional certifications allows for a comprehensive healing approach to patient wellness. I regularly attend diverse medical conferences to stay abreast of my specialty.
My career in medicine has primed my passion for nutritional supplements because I have seen how they can make positive influences in peoples lives.
